JORGE FLORES
MA, LPC
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master’s in Professional Counseling from Texas State University and have been a practicing therapist since June 2018. I work with a wide variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress, trauma, regulation, substance abuse, and communication. I have worked primarily at agencies and have helped individuals and families in crisis as well as providing traditional individual therapy. I have worked with children (8+) to adults of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures. I am also able to provide therapy in Spanish.
My theoretical orientation is an eclectic approach of Person-Centered theory, Existential Theory, EMDR, and regularly use of Animal-Assisted Counseling and Sand tray techniques. I strive to help people be the best version of themselves, regain attunement with themselves and others, and increase awareness around their passions in life.
I’m a good fit for people that want to address issues holistically and/or focus on doing work on a few select topics or events. I’m also a good fit for many culturally diverse people. Working with me is best mostly in-person because I heavily lean towards somatic therapies that lose a lot of impact even if I can do them online. I can teach some coping skills but tend to focus on trying to resolve the entire issue rather than just address it. Awareness is half the battle.
